New Moon or a Solar Eclipse.

Hey guys, haven't posted in about 2 days. Well I am back. Today I want to post about the new Twilight movie New Moon.
I think New Moon was one of the best Twilight books and it was very creative in a sense. Edward leaves Bella, Jacob picks up where he left off, then he comes back, etc. This book also, had a lot more Jacob than Edward and so was the first with more Edward than Jacob. This creates tension in a way.
New Moon was all about Bella be heartbroken about Edward and finding a release of some sort. She turned to adrenaline rush. Thus the conflict in the book/movie as well as Edward thinking she is dead and trying to get himself killed.

Will New Moon be better than the book?
Honestly, it is about how you take it. From the trailers I have seen and the work they have been putting in all I know is that it is looking very good. I also, like the fact that the wolves don't look like the traditional werewolves like so many directors go for. They actually look like over grown wolves.

Should I see this movie?
Of course you should if you are a fan. I am going with a group of friends. Ha ha though it will be a debate on 2012 and New Moon because we haven't seen 2012 yet. So yes just go see it.

Well that concludes this post and I hope to get back into my normal pattern of post. These last few days were amazing but take away from my blog.

Fun Fact: Did you know in about a billion years the sun will burn out because it's a star? Wow something new to me. The world will just have a "moon". But the crazy thing is the world will crash into the sun before it burns out.

Twilight Poem

Here's a Twilight poem I made in English class today. I just thought I would share it with you seeing how this blog has an aspect of Twilight.
Here goes:

Irresistible, intangible, unknown.
Or is it, that maybe, I have lost my soul,
No it is as I say,
You are as I describe.
A vampire whos life and heart, took mine.

Ha, it is a little rough, but it was just for an assignment. I am not a romantic so
this was best I could do for Twilight. Anyway I like it and I hope you do as well.
I will add more poetry to as well to break from my norm.

Also, make sure you comment and tell me what you thought.

A book like harry Potter, Eragon, or Twilight?

Here is a question I usually ask when searching google or yahoo for a book that I want to go out and buy: Is it similar to Harry Potter, Twilight, or Eragon?

I know that most of you feel like this when you want a book to read and know in your heart if it is not as interesting as the top 3 books HP, Twilight, and Eragon you won't want to read it.
So here are my choices of books that keep you interested and these books, I hope, will end your search for the next BIG book for you.

Here is a list and links:

  1. The Night Angel Trilogy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_Angel_Trilogy
  2. The Kingkiller Chronicle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Kingkiller_Chronicle
  3. The Arthur Trilogy http://www.amazon.com/King-Middle-March-Arthur-Trilogy/dp/0439266017
I choose these books out of a few because they are often overlooked even though they are really good books. The Night Angel Trilogy is about a orphan who is living in a city's worst part of town where guild leaders, guild rats, and The Sa'kage run rampant. This book is for a more mature audience because of its graphic words and such. I am 16 but I read it because I felt I could handle it.
The Kingkiller Chronicle is a very, very good book and in some case can rival if not top Harry Potter with its magic use and elements. It is about a boy who's family, which was a performing family, was murdered and he is determined to find out why. It is very well written and highlights his growth. I highly recommend you read this, and it is not a graphic book though in some manner suggestive, but not a lot seeing as the main character doesn't even understand girls. Ha ha.

Well this is it and I hope you will at least check these out and read a little sample of each.
Also, you can expect posts from me from Mon-Fri 4pm and later
Sat-Sun anytime during the day.
I will post at least 2-3 times a day hopefully.
Ciao!!

What to do?

So, I just wrote a blog about how the movies and books of the Harry Potter and Twilight series are similar and the good reasons for watching the movies. But now I want to talk about the order of which you should watch or read and why you have to go by your own opinion.
Most people ask "Should I just watch the movie or read the book?" or say "The movie sucked, it didn't have any of the parts from the book"
The people who ask the first question are usually new fans, who want to know where to start. I would recommend you read just because when the time comes for you to watch it is more exciting for you.
Those who say the movie was terrible because it didn't have everything are usually close-minded or just don't understand movies. Even though most of us would like a Harry Potter movie to run for 8 hours and show everything from the book, me being one of them, you have to understand it can't. Most people aren't as hardcore as we are. So do you think they want to watch a movie, in which the have a vague interest, for 8 hours. No. So people who say the movie sucked are typically just mad and can't be swayed. So just watch the movie if you want or read the book if you don't have the time for a movie. But, make sure you go back and do which ever one you skipped. I look at these movies and books as an experience more than just something fun to do. You want every bit of this experience you can get.

Age old Debate. . . Or maybe just a 21st century one.

So which is better Harry Potter, Eragon, or Twilight?
This is a tough one so let's analyze this.
First, you have Harry Potter, the boy who lived. Harry's life is very interesting and also full of excitement. In mere hours he went from being an unwanted orphan to a wizard celebrity. Talk about rags to riches, literally, he was poor and then found out he had a vault full of gold. But let's not forget his trusty friends Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger, who have been with him since his first day of school. Harry Potter is a series that highlights growth, destinies entwined, and the cliche Dark vs Light, although this series is anything but cliche.
Next, on to the Twilight series. Vampires, Vampires, Vampires. It seems the whole world has been over run with this mania of vampires and Twilight has a little, if not a lot, to do with it. The Twilight series is a story of human and vampire love, with a werewolf as a distraction. Bella and Edward should not be together, but they are a bit hard of hearing, even with Edwards keen ears. They are opposite and Bella runs the risk of being Edwards "snack" anytime. But that's what makes this story so enticing. The daring of those two and their struggle to make an unlikely relationship work. Note, Vampires are a win-win no matter what. They are the king of cool in mythical realms.
Finally, Eragon the Dragon-Rider. Eragon is the story of a farm boy turned Dragon-Rider and the hope of his world. Sounds good huh? Yeah, it supposed to. This book is so rich with description and magic it is hard to describe. Think of that, you can't describe something with so much description. Eragon is set a world where a Ex-Dragon-Rider is a monarch, who has had free reign over them for about 40+ years. Then Eragon comes and challenges all of that. The series, which is unfinished, has something a lot of books do not have. The sense that it is a real world. Alagaësia is full of different races, languages, alliances, and beast. This gives it more credibility when you're reading it. It seems like it is real, and that's what I look for, even in fictional books.

So which is better? Which author deserves more credit?
Honestly I can only answer for myself. But I am very interested in hearing what you have to say.
So post comments and tell me what you think.
