Tales of Beedle the Bard

Hey vamps, dragon-riders, and wizards.
I was just wondering if any of you heard of J.K Rowling's Harry Potter spin-off book.
It is the book from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, that Dumbledore gave Hermione.
J.K rowling filled it with a collection of wizard tales and such that Ron grew up reading. This book is a great way to stay connected to the Harry Potter world. I heard of this book about 4 months ago, but didn't believe my friend who told me about it. I was like"Yeah, whatever, J.K Rowling made another Harry Potter book,?" Ah, but I was both right and wrong. She didn't make another Harry Potter book, she made a book that was mentioned in Harry Potter. Ha ha.
You guys should really check this book out. I highly recommend it. Though I am not finished reading it, due to essays and girlfriend problems, from what I read it is very engaging. So check it out. I will have my own review of the book when I finished reading it so if you're shaky on reading it you can find out a little more from me.

Here's something that got me thinking. . .
Now that Rowling has made a book mentioned in Harry Potter, will she make others like that. Say for instance "A History of Hogwarts" or maybe "The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore". The two books would be best sellers if she made them and a fun thing to read. I am hoping Rowling writes these two books for our entertainment.

Fun Fact: Did you know J.k Rowling was born July 31 the same day Harry Potter was born in the book? Ha ha talk about being attached to main characters.

New Moon or a Solar Eclipse.

Hey guys, haven't posted in about 2 days. Well I am back. Today I want to post about the new Twilight movie New Moon.
I think New Moon was one of the best Twilight books and it was very creative in a sense. Edward leaves Bella, Jacob picks up where he left off, then he comes back, etc. This book also, had a lot more Jacob than Edward and so was the first with more Edward than Jacob. This creates tension in a way.
New Moon was all about Bella be heartbroken about Edward and finding a release of some sort. She turned to adrenaline rush. Thus the conflict in the book/movie as well as Edward thinking she is dead and trying to get himself killed.

Will New Moon be better than the book?
Honestly, it is about how you take it. From the trailers I have seen and the work they have been putting in all I know is that it is looking very good. I also, like the fact that the wolves don't look like the traditional werewolves like so many directors go for. They actually look like over grown wolves.

Should I see this movie?
Of course you should if you are a fan. I am going with a group of friends. Ha ha though it will be a debate on 2012 and New Moon because we haven't seen 2012 yet. So yes just go see it.

Well that concludes this post and I hope to get back into my normal pattern of post. These last few days were amazing but take away from my blog.

Fun Fact: Did you know in about a billion years the sun will burn out because it's a star? Wow something new to me. The world will just have a "moon". But the crazy thing is the world will crash into the sun before it burns out.

Eragon Movie's

¡Hola! Mi amigos.
Today, I want to talk about Eragon the movie and why there won't or should not be anymore movies. Eragon the movie had so many plot holes.
To start:

  1. There were no Dwarves. What the f***? They are a major race and ultimately it can't go on because Eragon needed them.
  2. Eragon doesn't get the scar on his back from Durza. So what will Eragon be struggling with in Eldest? And the Blood Festival has no real meaning if Eragon doesn't get the cut.
  3. Katrina wasn't even in the movie. That is huge right there because Roran revolves around her and Eragon revolves around him and the movie revolves around him. Ha ha might be hard for you to understand that.
  4. Murtagh wasn't even captured by the twins, who weren't even in there, so who will Eragon fight at the end of Eldest?
That is just a few reasons why Eragon can not go on as movie unless they redo the first one which I am hoping they will. Eragon was a good movie in a sense but what I am getting at is they didn't leave any room for the sequel and those others that follow. They should have waited a good while before trying to make some money off the book and gave the viewers and fans a exceptional movie.
All in all, it could have been much better.
No me gusta Eragon movie!

Twilight Poem

Here's a Twilight poem I made in English class today. I just thought I would share it with you seeing how this blog has an aspect of Twilight.
Here goes:

Irresistible, intangible, unknown.
Or is it, that maybe, I have lost my soul,
No it is as I say,
You are as I describe.
A vampire whos life and heart, took mine.

Ha, it is a little rough, but it was just for an assignment. I am not a romantic so
this was best I could do for Twilight. Anyway I like it and I hope you do as well.
I will add more poetry to as well to break from my norm.

Also, make sure you comment and tell me what you thought.

Eragon Characters. . .

Well as I promised or said, more Eragon content and this is something I have been eager to write, but I was very busy with Harry Potter Greatest Moments Part 1, 2, and 3. I am going to breakdown my 3 favorite characters and explain why they are my favorite characters and give you more info on them.

Eragon: Eragon is my favorite character for more obvious reasons. He is the stories protagonist and has an heroic air about him. But that is not entirely it about him. The thing that makes him my favorite character and such a powerful figure is what he was and what he has come to be. In the first book of the series titled "Eragon". He was just a farm boy in the very beginning and his only worries were helping his uncle and cousin and keeping himself feed. Eragon led a normal life and was content with it, though he loved stories Brom told about the Riders of the old times. And then all of a sudden a he finds a egg. That egg changed his life, for that egg held his destiny and lineage. When I read to this point I was hooked. Throughout the story Eragon holds true to his self and learns very fast, about the ways of a world he never dreamed existed.

Roran: This guy! Roran is a rough guy who cares for his people, his cousin Eragon, and beloved wife Katrina. Roran didn't play a major part in the first book, but in the next books he starts to grow. Roran is a man with power and quick wit. Roran starts fighting to protect his homeland, but as the fighting continues and he must escape with all the villagers, he experiences a change. He starts to like war in a way though he is opposed to killing. This eternal battle is the main reason why I like him. He is gentle and kind on the inside, though that doesn't come across much, and he is rough and tough on the outside. What also makes Roran such a spectacular character is the fact that he is a normal human in Eragon's world and doesn't have half the power they have, but all the same he fights as hard. He even acquired the nickname Stronghammer because of his signature weapon and the strength at which he brings it down on his foes. Roran is normal, but can fight as if he was a god when the times counts itself convenient.

Murtagh: WHAT?!?! I bet this is the reaction I just got. Ha ha. Yes, I stick by my choice. Murtagh is one of my favorite characters. Despite popular belief Murtagh is not evil at all. He is being forced to be what he is even if he isn't exactly against it. Murtagh is a powerful character who is on the brink of self destruction because of Galbatorix. He has lost hope and has turned to his hatred, but he isn't truly lost in his heart. When Eragon told him he could change who his "name" and break free from Galbatorix he is hopeful and is ready to do it, but then is reminded on why it probably will fail and all hope leaves his mind. He is a complex character who is struggling to be good when it is obvious that option has been taking off the table long ago. But he is trying all the same. For example, he saved Eragon's life after their first official battle which did great harm to him. Murtagh is a very important character and throughout the rest of the series I hope to see him play a big role and ultimately change and break away from Galbatorix all together.

Well this concludes my post, but make sure you comment below:

  1. Your top favorite character.
  2. Your second favorite character.
  3. Your the third favorite character.

Whoa!! Eragon?

Hey guys! I just want to say, I know that my content is lacking things about Eragon. This was pointed out by a reader and gently said to me via email "What the h***, I thought you said this site was about Harry Potter, Eragon, and Twilight. I see no Eragon". Though this wasn't the politest email, I am still excited that I got an Email. So I want to address this thing with lack of Eragon content. All the content I have are things I thought of at that moment and just wrote. So all my post about Twilight and Harry Potter were spontaneous. However, I plan to cater to all these books, but then again Eragon wasn't as successful movie wise so when I post about the movies I can't put Eragon because the movie wasn't a great hit.
But enough of that, expect more Eragon content.
See you later guys.

Harry Potter Greatest Moments: Part 1

Well today I am going to share the TOP 10 Harry Potter book moments and TOP 5 Harry Potter movie moments. This will consist of 3 parts. Please feel free to share yours as well, so we can compare and talk about them

Harry Potter Top 10 Book Moments:

  1. My first pick is in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, when Harry looks at Snape's memories and finally realizes Snape was a good guy. Rowling made this a perfect plot twist because she had most of us, if not all of us, fooled about what his true motive was. Also, this justifies a lot of Snape's actions and feelings of Harry than just Snape's hate for James Potter. His memories were a very important piece to the Harry Potter puzzle, which we call a series.
  2. The next top moment comes from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The part that I felt was important was when Sirius dies at the battle in The Ministry of Magic. Though sad I felt Rowling was right in allowing Sirius to die. Harry true destiny was to defeat Voldemort and stop the Death Eaters reign. And with Sirius there Harry was becoming attached to him, which isn't bad, but during that time Harry should only be focused on defeating Voldemort. There is also, and underlying theme that Harry must do it alone, which he did no matter what way you look at it. Dumbledore, his parents, and Sirius death were necessary for him to grow and succeed.
  3. Another moment I felt was important, though many might not agree with, is when Dudley shakes Harry's hand and is genuinely worried about him. This was a touching moment because throughout Harry's life Dudley was second to none in making his life miserable. So when this change of heart comes it is a happy moment, but sad because it has to end so soon.
  4. A significant moment, in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, is when was when Snape kills Dumbledore. Though we didn't know at the time, this was very tough for Snape and one of his most difficult trials in his life. This moment has gained more meaning after Deathly Hallows explained it. Dumbledore had trusted Snape and Snape the same, but when Dumbledore proposes the idea to allow Snape to kill him because he was dying any way Snape is appalled. This test Snapes loyalty to both the Dark Lord and Dumbledore, though in different ways. In the end Snape kept true to his words even though his soul was going to be damaged as he told Dumbledore. This moment shows just how heroic Snape was.
  5. A very, very important moment was when Voldemort returns in Harry potter and the Goblet of Fire. This was important because the main bad guy of the story finally makes an appearance and now the book has its real conflict in which the main character must overcome. This part, at the end of the book, sets the tempo and other actions that will follow and ultimately the end of the series. It truly started at this part in a sense and ended with his fall as well.
This is it for now stay tuned for part 2 and 3.
Par 2 will be 5 more top book moments and part 3 will be 5 movie moments.

Harry Potter Greatest Moments: Part 2

Okay as I promised part 2 of my earlier blog.

  1. A important moment in the Harry Potter Series, and with the fans, occurred in the very beginning of Deathly Hallows. Hedwig, Harry's owl, was killed right next to him. J.K. started the book off with some good foreshadowing and also on a dark note. This is important, even though we didn't want to see the "snowy white owl" go, because it shows that this is the final book and death will find many of our favorite characters and even villains. Hedwig's death also symbolizes the rise of evil. Hedwig was pure, hence the color white, and Death Eaters are evil, portrayed with black. This is good vs evil and good loses early on in the battle which can symbolize how they were losing early on during the war with Voldemort. A good literary device from Rowling.
  2. A big moment was when, Harry uses his first Unforgivable Curse against Bellatrix and also, when he uses Imperious Curse in Gringotts Bank. These moments show Harry's descent into the darkness and his struggle with staying pure and using the power of love and not hate. When Harry uses Crucio on Bellatrix it is from grief and hate at what she has done. This test him and is a hurdle he has to make. But in Deathly Hallows when he uses the Imperious Curse it is necessary for survival, which test him as well. He successfully uses the curse and does not get hooked like most other people do. Harry's heart has been tested again and again and he has strayed off the path of love, but always finds his way back.
  3. A powerful moment in this series is when, Harry has to choose between Horcruxes and The Hallows. At this part he has to decide does he want to confront power with power or evil with love. They are the same in this case, but one will decide who he will become and who he should not become. He chooses the horcruxes, which he thinks is a bad idea, but turns out to be the best idea. This part is the climax of the story and whatever he did chose would become the focus and if he choose Hallows we might have another story altogether. In my opinion I would have preferred him to go after the Hallows, because I am weird. I love it when main characters are over powered. But anyway on to the next one.
  4. The thestrals are a nice addition to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, because it brings more to the series. imagine a beast you can only see if you have seen death. That weird, but in a way cool. Finding out about them is cool because he got to divulge why Luna could see them and found out more about her. Also, it adds mystery to Harry Potter that keeps readers hooked. A common question asked is "Why couldn't Harry see them until he saw Cedric die (Robert Pattinson ha ha) when he saw his mum and dad die?,". That is a good question I cannot answer, but good all the same. Just thought I should share.
  5. Finally, the last moment, still a big one nonetheless. "Harry walked into Deaths waiting arms". This is when he goes to face Voldy and knows he must die. This part is so significant that I could write a 20 page essay on it and only cover his walking into the forest. Not really, but it is significant. During this scene Harry discovers the riddle on the golden snitch "I open at the close," which answer was " I am about to die". Harry finally understands what Dumbledore was training him for and what valor he needs to face this last challenge. Dumbledore also anticipated Harry would need his parents and deceased loved ones as a source of courage, so he left the final Hallow in the snitch. As Harry goes to be killed and stands before Voldemort he does not flee, but stands there and takes the final blow. The scene after this with Dumbledore was very important, but as I said only 10 moments in the book.
This concludes my top 10 book moments, and I will soon update with my top 5 movie moments.

Harry Potter Greatest Moments: Part 3

At last part3. For this part I will name the top 5 Harry Potter movie moments and talk about them just like I did the top 10 moments of the book.
Here we go!

  1. A movie moment that stands out and can be considered in this top 5 list is. . . Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets when they are playing wizarding chess. That part is amazing and fun to look at. Hey, I would love to have taken part in that. This part isn't a serious point like most of my book moments but it is important to me because it looked breathtaking in a sense.
  2. My next top movie moment is when Harry watched him and his godfather being killed by dementors and he casted his stag patronus. This was in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. This was nice moment because it allowed us our first true glimpse of his patronus, in full power. Also, it is weird when we get to see him watching himself die and then save his own life. Ha ha.
  3. A great moment in Harry Potter movies was in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix when they were battling at the Ministry of Magic. The fight was amazing, they were black and white blurs dashing across the place, sending jinxes and curses at each other. Also, the 2 on 2 when Harry and Sirius were fighting and Sirius calls Harry by his father name "James". That part is epic because it is like Sirius and James fighting along side again. But sadly Sirius dies shortly after. At least he got the illusion on being with James again before he left.
  4. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is where our next great moment comes from. The scene when they show us Slughorn. I was very interested in what Professor Slughorn looked like and their portrayal of him is somewhat what I expected him to be and also the memory which he tampered with was funny. He did a bad job.
  5. The final part of this is Voldemort vs. Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. This fight had excellent visuals which were breathtaking. The way they were moving things and front of them and the very end when Voldemort screamed was awesome. I actually bookmarked this fight on youtube, I was truly impressed with this fight. Also, it was very accurate in terms of the book and how Dumbledore using the statue was the chapter cover and a physical part in the book.
Well this is the end of my top 10 book moments and top 5 book moments. Looked forward to me doing this with Eragon and Twilight as well.
Thanks for reading!

A book like harry Potter, Eragon, or Twilight?

Here is a question I usually ask when searching google or yahoo for a book that I want to go out and buy: Is it similar to Harry Potter, Twilight, or Eragon?

I know that most of you feel like this when you want a book to read and know in your heart if it is not as interesting as the top 3 books HP, Twilight, and Eragon you won't want to read it.
So here are my choices of books that keep you interested and these books, I hope, will end your search for the next BIG book for you.

Here is a list and links:

  1. The Night Angel Trilogy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_Angel_Trilogy
  2. The Kingkiller Chronicle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Kingkiller_Chronicle
  3. The Arthur Trilogy http://www.amazon.com/King-Middle-March-Arthur-Trilogy/dp/0439266017
I choose these books out of a few because they are often overlooked even though they are really good books. The Night Angel Trilogy is about a orphan who is living in a city's worst part of town where guild leaders, guild rats, and The Sa'kage run rampant. This book is for a more mature audience because of its graphic words and such. I am 16 but I read it because I felt I could handle it.
The Kingkiller Chronicle is a very, very good book and in some case can rival if not top Harry Potter with its magic use and elements. It is about a boy who's family, which was a performing family, was murdered and he is determined to find out why. It is very well written and highlights his growth. I highly recommend you read this, and it is not a graphic book though in some manner suggestive, but not a lot seeing as the main character doesn't even understand girls. Ha ha.

Well this is it and I hope you will at least check these out and read a little sample of each.
Also, you can expect posts from me from Mon-Fri 4pm and later
Sat-Sun anytime during the day.
I will post at least 2-3 times a day hopefully.
Ciao!!

Who is going??

In case you haven't heard, for any number of reasons, which include living under a rock, solitary confinement, or dwindling interest in Harry Potter; there is a Harry Potter theme park called "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" opening this spring. I knew it was coming out for sometime, but to think it is this close. I am very excited about this and from how smooth it's going. It is set to opened after Deathly Hallows part 1 releases. It is almost a exact replica of Hogwarts Castle. Also, this theme park is good in a way because once they finish the movies we won't have anything left, unless Rowling makes another book on Harry Potter, which is unlikely. Here's the article where I found out the release date http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/2009/11/9/firm-opening-date-for-wizarding-world-due-soon and I encourage you to join this site. I have an account here and this place is fun and a good place for daily dose of Potter News, besides my blog.
¡Hasta Luego! And don't forget to comment what you think.

What to do?

So, I just wrote a blog about how the movies and books of the Harry Potter and Twilight series are similar and the good reasons for watching the movies. But now I want to talk about the order of which you should watch or read and why you have to go by your own opinion.
Most people ask "Should I just watch the movie or read the book?" or say "The movie sucked, it didn't have any of the parts from the book"
The people who ask the first question are usually new fans, who want to know where to start. I would recommend you read just because when the time comes for you to watch it is more exciting for you.
Those who say the movie was terrible because it didn't have everything are usually close-minded or just don't understand movies. Even though most of us would like a Harry Potter movie to run for 8 hours and show everything from the book, me being one of them, you have to understand it can't. Most people aren't as hardcore as we are. So do you think they want to watch a movie, in which the have a vague interest, for 8 hours. No. So people who say the movie sucked are typically just mad and can't be swayed. So just watch the movie if you want or read the book if you don't have the time for a movie. But, make sure you go back and do which ever one you skipped. I look at these movies and books as an experience more than just something fun to do. You want every bit of this experience you can get.

Book to Movie

Hello, fellow vampires and wizards. Ha ha.
Today I felt I should share my opinion of the movies. To start the only reason why I put Harry Potter and Twilight movies is because we all know the Eragon 1 film was an epic fail. So let's begin.

Harry Potter 1-6 movies held true to the series in a sense. The movies were a good mirror of the books because I felt the actors developed with the characters in the story in just the way they should. Another good thing is the storyline followed the books with not a lot of tweaking, even though when they did tweak it, it was a part I wanted to see. Which sucked. The films, also provide those who can't truly visualize the characters with a little visualization. In other terms it puts a face to a name. But there is some fun with visualizing what they look like in your head and then see how other people visualized them in the movie. For example, I thought of Fernir different than what they showed me. Guess they showed me. No pun intended, though it was kind of intended.
Now for the Twilight movie(s). As of right now there is only one with another right down the street. The Twilight movie is very good. I really liked it, because it has a certain feel to it. Hard to explain. But, with Twilight they were almost exactly how I pictured them. One thing that sets Twilight apart from the way Harry Potter flowed with its books to films are I could actually recommend Twilight the movie and not the book at all. Though I do not recommend this. It takes away from you. Also, Twilight movies have a stellar actor playing lead. Not saying Harry Potter doesn't but Kirsten Stewart has the role locked. She is so convincing and Robert Pattinson isn't to shabby either. Twilight also incorperates the mood of Twilight into the film. That is usually hard for films to do. Also New Moon is going to be awesome. This film looks spectacular from trailers I have seen. They have a great cast, and the fighting looks amazing. New Moon is sure to be a hit.

So that is my two cent, but as always I want to hear what you think.

Age old Debate. . . Or maybe just a 21st century one.

So which is better Harry Potter, Eragon, or Twilight?
This is a tough one so let's analyze this.
First, you have Harry Potter, the boy who lived. Harry's life is very interesting and also full of excitement. In mere hours he went from being an unwanted orphan to a wizard celebrity. Talk about rags to riches, literally, he was poor and then found out he had a vault full of gold. But let's not forget his trusty friends Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger, who have been with him since his first day of school. Harry Potter is a series that highlights growth, destinies entwined, and the cliche Dark vs Light, although this series is anything but cliche.
Next, on to the Twilight series. Vampires, Vampires, Vampires. It seems the whole world has been over run with this mania of vampires and Twilight has a little, if not a lot, to do with it. The Twilight series is a story of human and vampire love, with a werewolf as a distraction. Bella and Edward should not be together, but they are a bit hard of hearing, even with Edwards keen ears. They are opposite and Bella runs the risk of being Edwards "snack" anytime. But that's what makes this story so enticing. The daring of those two and their struggle to make an unlikely relationship work. Note, Vampires are a win-win no matter what. They are the king of cool in mythical realms.
Finally, Eragon the Dragon-Rider. Eragon is the story of a farm boy turned Dragon-Rider and the hope of his world. Sounds good huh? Yeah, it supposed to. This book is so rich with description and magic it is hard to describe. Think of that, you can't describe something with so much description. Eragon is set a world where a Ex-Dragon-Rider is a monarch, who has had free reign over them for about 40+ years. Then Eragon comes and challenges all of that. The series, which is unfinished, has something a lot of books do not have. The sense that it is a real world. Alagaësia is full of different races, languages, alliances, and beast. This gives it more credibility when you're reading it. It seems like it is real, and that's what I look for, even in fictional books.

So which is better? Which author deserves more credit?
Honestly I can only answer for myself. But I am very interested in hearing what you have to say.
So post comments and tell me what you think.

My Very First Blog! :-)

Hello, and excuse my non-professionalism in the title. I am just so excited to finally post my first blog.

To start, I am currently in school and I have aspirations to be a published fictional writer and write 2 movie scripts.

As of right now I am waiting on responses from 3 interviews from internships of writing. But enough of me, allow me to tell you why I am blogging.

Here a few reasons:

  1. I really enjoy writing and expressing myself.
  2. I equally enjoy hearing what others have to say and helping with their problems.
  3. I have never, ever blogged or owned my own forum.
  4. I would like to interact with different people who know what I am talking about.
  5. Every experience leads up to the final you.
  6. I truly want to be HEARD!

Well now that I told you why I want to blog, how about I tell you what I am blogging about, though you might have guessed.

I am blogging about my favorite books, that I can read endlessly. Harry Potter, Twilight, and Eragon. These book are inspiring in a way, but more importantly in my eyes it allows you to

go somewhere you can never be and creates that feeling that you are there which is just as good as being there. But also these books mean something to me. Harry Potter and the Chamber of

Secrets was the first book I read all the way through and then re-read. After that I was hooked on Harry Potter. Twilight was the first book in which I actually embraced the theme of romance

novels. Although, I am a guy I truly understand Twilight and I frown upon those who judge it without good reason. Finally, Eragon is a book I love because it is a tale of heroics, which we all

want to hear, and a lot of the times it has those parts that get your heart beating or when you know that he is about to breakdown a door and people will finally know he is the Dragon Rider.

Those are the parts I live for.

And so I conclude my first blog. If you would like to comment or email me feel free I am very open and sociable.

Oh Yeah, Welcome to my Blog!
